Olivier Giroud has become the whipping boy of Arsenal fans because of his inability to take advantage of the goal scoring opportunities provided by the industrious Gunners midfield.
Arsene Wenger is believed to be in the market for a new striker and saw Jamie Vardy knock back a move to the Emirates earlier in the summer.
Higuain has netted 91 goals in 146 appearances for Napoli, whilst Giroud has claimed just 82 goals in 188 appearances for the Premier League outfit.
However, in a boost to Napoli, Arsenal and any other interested parties, the player quickly rejected it, suggesting a decision on his future will be motivated by a footballing reasons rather than financial. To be specific, they want French striker Olivier Giroud.
Still, Napoli are keen on the Frenchman, and it turns out he would be keen on a move too.
‘There is no fear from Olivier about possibly going to Napoli: it is a magnificent city.
Sky Sports Italia’s Gianluca Di Marzio reported yesterday that Arsenal are pursuing the Argentina global, who scored an impressive 36 goals in 35 games last season, and that they could be willing to use in Giroud in a part-exchange.
“In Naples, my client could have a wonderful lifestyle, not to mention that Maurizio Sarri’s style of football would get the best out of a striker like him”.
