Durant jokes assistant coach is only reason he’s at Golden State

Kevin Durant signed a two-year, $54 million deal to join the Golden State Warriors, and was introduced at a press conference on Thursday afternoon in Oakland, Calif.

Kerr and Myers said that they were impressed with Durant’s character. “I don’t want to go through that again”. “Outside of sports, in any profession, the thought always needs to be “what is enough” not ‘what is the maximum.'” This is especially true for entrepreneurs negotiating the sale of their businesses, since they’re often more inclined to make decisions based on the future, rather than current financial realities. “It was organic, it was authentic, it was real”, Durant said. “I was shocked that those four guys came in to meet me a couple of days ago”, he said. “I felt like it was time for it, and I made this decision”.

Since Durant agreed to terms with the Warriors, reports emerged of some fracturing in his relationship with Westbrook. “Because just like it meant more to LeBron to win one in Cleveland, it would mean more to Kevin to win one in Oklahoma than it would be in Golden State”.

Durant will play his first game in Golden State’s arena since joining the Warriors on July 26 as a member of the US Olympic team against China in a warm-up contest for Rio. “There’s no shortcut. This is the hardest road because I don’t know anybody here”. I can’t really control how you feel, I’m sorry you feel that way.

Kevin Durant: “We live in a comic book world where either you’re a villian or a superhero if you’re in this position”. The team the Thunder had last year was its best in years and had it not been for the Warriors beating them in Game 7 of the Western Conference Finals, I think they had a realistic shot of winning it all in the NBA Finals. “And then, to kind of be around people who are looking after his business interests and to make this kind of decision that seems so out of character for him, it leads me to believe he trusted people that gave him different advice than he would have given himself”.

Warriors assistant coach Ron Adams is considered a defensive guru in the National Basketball Association, and was a former assistant coach at Oklahoma City from 2008-10 while Durant was there. I’m not saying I blame them for chasing championship rings, that’s just the way it is. “I’m sure we’ll talk about it”.

Durant: “I made the decision to come and play for these guys and I feel great and I feel excited”. “I know we’re expected to be flawless each and every day, but I know that’s not realistic”. “It’s going to be a lot of fun once we get rolling”.
