According to stats out today, Pokemon Go was rolled out across the world last week and already has almost the same number of daily Android users as Twitter. The game has been an instant hit and is about to surpass Twitter in terms of daily active users on Android. He’s since deleted the game and revoked the game’s access to his Google account. But they emphasized that they only basic information of the user is accessed by the app and an update fixing this will soon be rolling out from Google. Unfortunately, if a player is signing in through their Google account through iOS, they may be putting their account’s security at risk.

The permissions, according to endgadget, means Ninantic, which developed the app for Nintendo, has access to your Google drive docs, search history, private Google Photos and any other items tied to your account, including You Tube and Google Maps.
The application seemed to instantly top download lists on both Android and iOS devices, quickly placing itself ahead of many similar titles, including Pokemon Shuffle Mobile, Miitomo, and Ingress.
Created by game designing firm Niantic, Pokemon Go uses augmented reality, Global Positioning System and digital maps to make it appear as if users are catching the creatures in their backyard, kitchen or office.
A lot of them revolve around the data Pokemon Go and Niantic Labs, the game’s maker, have access to once you sign up.
While there was no confirmation on the reports directly from Google, Niantic added in the statement that the tech giant had “verified that no other information has been received or accessed”. And if you’re one of the unfortunate Pokémon Go users that has already logged in with their Google account, I would advise removing the app’s permissions here.
