Reports are emerging about a deadly shooting at an afterparty hosted by rap megastar Drake in Toronto that has left two people dead and at least three critically injured.

The three who were wounded were taken to hospital with various injuries, none life-threatening.

Speaking later Tuesday at a news conference, Deputy Chief Peter Sloly said the shooters did not hesitate to fire their weapons despite crowds of people inside and outside the venue, according to CBC.

It is unclear if Drake was at the club during the incident. And in February, 2013, a 19-year-old was shot and killed outside the club.

It was a “well-run event with lots of police officers around the area”, said Bergen.

Police say the shooting happened as the after-party was coming to an end and that there were officers patrolling the area at the time of the shooting.

As NBCNews notes, this is not the first time such an incident has occurred. It wasn’t instantly clear what number of suspects there are, or what led to the shooting.

“Our officers were present when the initial shots went off. They were within metres of the initial shooting”, he said.

Toronto police have set up a website for anyone with information to upload images or video.

Drake was hosting the official after-party for the OVO Fest at Muzik.

Details pertaining to the identities of the victims remain vague, but Bergen reported that they were between their 20’s and 30’s. Last year, on August. 5, 2014, a 28-year-old man was shot in front of Muzik following OVO Fest.
