Beer To Be Sold In Delco Wawa, Is Phoenixville Next?
For people who like a cold brew with a hoagie, a one-stop shop is just down the road.

The idea was approved by the Concord Township Board of Supervisors on Tuesday night, according to NBC Philadelphia. And some Concord residents told supervisors in June that beer sales at Wawa might encourage loitering, littering, and rowdy behavior.
The decision came with 21 conditions.
Wawa must also abide by all Pennsylvania Liquor Control Board regulations, maintain an internal separation between the main store and the 400 square foot café area where the beer will be sold and any beer consumed on site must be within that area. Individuals will be allowed to drink only one bottle or can per day while seated in the café, a limit that will be reinforced with signage, and they may not take open containers outside the store. Customers can purchase up to 192 ounces of beer, or about two six-packs, a day. The location is open 24/7 and the approval will permit beer sales between 8 am to 10 pm, Sunday-Thursday and 8 am to 11 pm, Friday and Saturday. The Wawa must give the town $15,000 for traffic improvement on Route 202, install security cameras outside, and there can be no outdoor seating, no beer on tap and no live entertainment (so you’ll have nothing to listen to except that irritatingly catchy Wawa jingle playing over the speakers).
Employees involved in beer sales will be instructed in the state’s Responsible Alcohol Management Training (RAMP) training, a condition imposed by the board.
The approval is for beer only. Township officials previously approve Acme, Whole Foods and Wegmans to do the same, the Delaware County Times reported.
The Naaman’s Creek Road Wawa is the first Wawa in Pennsylvania to get such approval.

Delaware County-based Wawa already sells beer in Virginia and Florida. In 1986, the company was licensed to sell beer at a Spruce Street store near the University of Pennsylvania campus. Pinging is now not allowed.
