A viral video shows a Checkers worker making a hamburger, but first pausing to wipe it on the floor before putting in the filling and completing the burger.
The video, allegedly filmed at a Baltimore-area location last month, was posted online Tuesday.
The employees involved in creating the video are no longer employed at the restaurant. Enlarge pix11 The worker picks the bun back up and makes a sandwich with it.
The video has gotten hundreds of thousands of views in the one day since it’s been posted and Checkers has responded with its own video.
Lori Malcolm, the senior vice president of human resources at Checkers, said she was “appalled and disappointed” by the video.
According to WFTS, all of the employees seen or heard in the video have been terminated.
On the video Malcolm noted that “while the employee is very apologetic, these actions are completely unacceptable and do not reflect our values or commitment to food quality”. “The product was never served to a guest”, she said, adding that the incident is still under a full investigation.

Checkers said it is continuing to investigate the incident.
