Chad Johnson to guest-instruct at Browns camp

Johnson, a six-time Pro Bowler with the Cincinatti Bengals, reached out Monday to Jackson, the former Raiders head coach who took the helm in Cleveland this offseason. He already has his sights set on the Cleveland Browns. Jackson was a wide receivers coach in Cincinnati when Johnson was with the Bengals, so that prior relationship probably helped him score the role.

The cryptic tweet indicates that Johnson has agreed to become some sort of assistant with the Browns, but there is no official word as of yet.

Chad Johnson was not too proud to beg. This incident was highly publicized at the time and Johnson being released by the Dolphins was shown on HBO’s “Hard Knocks.”.

Ochocinco, as he is called due to wearing jersey number 85, started his 11 season career with the Bengals, and finished with the New England Patriots, racking up 11,059 yards, with 67 TDs.

For all of his headaches and grandstanding, there were few wide receivers more dedicated to the actual craft of route running and the intricacies of the wide receiver position than Johnson was.

Despite his off-field antics, Johnson was one of the best receivers around in his playing days.
