He’s set to portray the role of Wally West, a character in comics that becomes imbued with the same powers as The Flash after a very similar incident.

“Just like when we met Grant for the first time, we instantly knew Keiynan embodied all the heart and courage of a hero”, producer Andrew Kreisberg said today (August 5).

Although the “new” Wally West has only been in the DC comic-book series a short time, “The Flash” looks to be moving full speed ahead with this version of the West family line.

West – who, in the Flash comics, is the nephew of Iris West and has worn the mantle of Kid Flash and the Flash – will make his TV debut on “The Flash“, with plenty of questions upon his arrival.

Not only will Keiynan Lonsdale be joining the series as a popular DC character, he will be a regular addition to the second season cast.

Lonsdale joins the previously announced Teddy Sears as another speedy superheo this season.

Season one teased that we’ll see a few more speedsters, as well, thanks to the introduction of the multiverse. In the comics and those previous cartoons, Wally was a red-headed caucasian, but they are obviously keeping with the most recent iteration and have gone with that version of the character it appears.

On the upcoming second season of The Flash, fans will be getting not one, not two but THREE speedsters!

The Flash” airs on The CW on Tuesdays at 8/7c.
