Carlos Bacca wants to be guaranteed pay parity with Dimitri Payet before he agrees to a £25m switch to West Ham, according to reports.

Despite being heavily linked with big-money moves for players such as Christian Benteke, Alexandre Lacazette and Michy Batshuayi, the Hammers’ attempts to land a forward have so far come to nothing.

It has been a frustrating time but, after weeks of searching, it now appears West Ham have found their man in the shape of the Colombia global.

Over a ten-year career between Barranquilla, Minerven, Atletico Junior, Club Brugge, Sevilla and Milan, Bacca has made 324 league appearances and scored 167 goals – better than a goal every other game.

His impressive form was also taken on to the worldwide stage after he found the back of the net twice to help Colombia reach the Copa America semi-finals.

Bacca would also become the most expensive signing in West Ham’s 121-year history, eclipsing the £15m fee for paid for Andy Carroll to Liverpool.

It is understood that West Ham have activated Bacca’s release clause of £26m with Milan, who signed the 29-year-old striker from Spanish outfit Sevilla in the summer of 2015.

The Hammers added to their squad on Monday by signing Gokhan Tore on a season-long loan deal from Besiktas with a view to a permanent deal.
