The 39-year-old will join Milla Jovovich and Wentworth Miller in the upcoming movie, noted Coming Soon. We could see Anderson and Jovovich finishing off their long film cycle with this story, leaving Resident Evil open for a remake or full series reboot.

Directing the movie is Anna Foerster, who did 2nd unit work as well as acting a director of photography as Roland Emmerich’s right hand woman on movies such as The Day After Tomorrow and White House Down. Plus, a bunch of those characters are from the video games, so you have to have a passing familiarity with that intimidatingly convoluted storyline in order to really understand who they are. Sony, though, has moved this one away from its usual September release slot.

Bingbing Li is also expected to return to the movie for the role of Ada Wong.

Filming was delayed last year when she announced they were expecting their second child. Larter wrote on her website, “It’s a girl!”
