LeBlanc is the ‘captain’ Top Gear needs, says Chris Evans
Top Gear recently announced that Chris Evans is departing the show and there is going to be a gap in the series due to his departure.

In a statement, the radio and TV presenter said he gave the job his “best shot” but that it wasn’t enough as he resigned last week. A source told the publication: “It’s not great news for Chris after losing Top Gear, but there isn’t the appetite to bring back TFI again”.
The result was writing that the show’s presenters – Evans aside, we’re guessing – weren’t happy with. It came after the BBC2 show finished the most recent series with its lowest ratings since 2002, reaching an audience of just 1.9 million people – less than half of its launch overnight audience of 4.3 million.
While in the driving seat of the car-obsessed series, Evans was ridiculed for his “shouty” presenting technique by viewers, and was said to be a “control-freak” on set with “diva-like behaviour”.
Evans is also reported to have been interviewed by London police over historic sexual harassment claims.
“I think the phrase is ‘not meant to be”.
The show – which is presented by Chris Evans and originally ran in the 1990s – was briefly resurrected a year ago for a short series. “He is the captain Top Gear truly needs going forward, the flawless torso for the rest of TG’s limbs”.
Top Gear global brand director Adam Waddell said: “Chris Harris has proved extremely popular with viewers of Top Gear and Extra Gear – he can drive the wheels off any vehicle and fans love him for his ability to explain what its really like to drive the world’s most exciting cars”. Most likely, that will be Rory Reid and Chris Harris, both featured heavily on Top Gear Extra and whom viewers found generally affable.

Chris said working on the programme for a year had been a “dream” and “the Top Gear ship has been steadily refloated” following the departure of Jeremy Clarkson, James May and Richard Hammond.
