‘Sources’ of frustration: Jahlil Okafor weighs in on trade rumors

Unlike Dwyane Wade and his fallout with the Miami Heat, Jahlil Okafor tweeted late Sunday that he wants to stay a Philadelphia 76er and blasted the media for putting out conflicting reports about his trade status.

The report indicates that general manager Bryan Colangelo “tried like hell to trade Okafor”, who finished fifth in Rookie of the Year voting after being drafted No. 3 overall in 2015, and that the center is “upset and his people are upset”, according to a source.

The internet has been talking about Jahlil Okafor getting traded for a while, and he’s pretty over it. The Sixers probably have too many young players that demand playing time in the frontcourt on the roster, so Okafor and Nerlens Noel seem like the likeliest candidates to be on the move. The franchise has acquired the top pick in 2016 National Basketball Association draft- Ben Simmons.

“I love [being in Philly] and I am excited about this upcoming season”, he said.

Will Philadelphia finally get a trade partner for Okafor? From those inauspicious beginnings, the imbalanced and talent-poor young Sixers embarked on a historically horrendous and dispiriting start to the 2015-16 campaign, losing their first 18 games of the season and sitting at 1-30 with the NBA’s worst net rating on Christmas. “Big season for us!”

Okafor was quick to refute Moore’s report on Twitter. Or Colangelo and company will retain him by trading Noel or Embiid.
