Police say they’re obtaining a warrant for his arrest.
LaValley was with the Shreveport police since 2011 and graduated at the top of his police academy class, police said.
Officer Thomas LaValley responded with other officers to the 3500 Block of Del Rio Street in the Queensborough neighborhood around 9:14 a.m. for a report of a suspicious person, according to The Shreveport Times.
City police spokesman Marcus Hines said in an email that officers have followed up on a number of suspected sightings at Cannon’s previous homes, but he was not in any of them.
In Jackson, Miss., officers have searched at least two Greyhound buses that arrived from Louisiana in a manhunt for Grover D. Cannon, 27, accused of shooting a Shreveport police officer multiple times.
“No matter what rock he crawls under, we will find him”.
“Once we were notified, we jumped on it immediately to assist”, said Green. We are not bound by country lines….
“We’ll continue searching until suspect is caught and brought to justice”, Shreveport Police spokesman Cpl.
The Louisiana police officer died at a hospital after he was shot multiple times, and a manhunt for the shooter is now underway.
“He was doing what he loved”, Shaw repeated.
“DO NOT APPROACH”, said the notice from the U.S. Marshals Service and Shreveport police. “He did not hesitate to confront a bad person”. “And by ‘our loss, ‘ I mean-anyone and everyone that knew Thomas or came in contact with him”, Tim Fletcher wrote in a Facebook post.

The mayor of Shreveport issued a statement decrying the death. “Our hearts are saddened”, said Mayor Ollie Tyler.
