The parliamentray board also decided that the chief minister, who is also SP state unit president, will take out a “vikas rath yatra” across Uttar Pradesh to highlight the development carried out by his government.
The Samajwadi Parliamentary Board which met last week had chose to re-induct Mr Balram Yadav into the cabinet and the SP president had also mounted pressure for the inclusion of Mr Narad Rai who had been dropped from the council of minister in October previous year on unknown reasons.
While Balram Yadav and Narad Rai took oath as the cabinet ministers today, Ziyaudin Rizvi, who is the third cabinet minister in today’s expansion was on pilgrimage and would take oath on his return. Balram, an old colleague of SP chief Mulayam Singh Yadav broke down when asked about his removal, and insisted he remained dedicated to the party.
Rift in Mulayam Singh Yadav’s family came to the fore on Wednesday, June 29 at the birthday party of his brother Ram Gopal Yadav, with another brother Shivpal Yadav displaying his disinterest apparently because of his unhappiness over the fiasco involving merger of Quami Ekta Dal with SP.
At a function at Raj Bhawan, Governor Ram Naik also read out the oath of office and secrecy to Ministers of State Ravidas Mehrotra and Sharda Pratap Shukla.
The CM later said he has read the likes of Lohia and Jai Prakash Narain, and added, “Netaji (Mulayam) established the party and raised the people’s standard” of living, and that the party was committed to follow Mulayam’s ideology. Mayawati said the SP may have cancelled the merger of QED with it, but the SP leadership will compensate its leader and Mafia turned politician Mukhtar Ansari by fielding a weak candidate during the assembly elections in 2017.
