Actor Dwayne Johnson wrestled the highest-paid actor spot from Iron Man’s Robert Downey Jr, earning $64.5 million, largely thanks to the billion-dollar Fast and Furious franchise and the surprising success of 2015’s San Andreas movie.
Taylor also earns money from partnerships with brands like Diet Coke, Keds, and Apple. These include some of friendly and not-so-friendly competitors with the likes of Adele (Ranked #9; $80.5 million), Madonna (Ranked #12; $76.5 million), Rihanna (Ranked #13; $75 million), and Katy Perry (Ranked #63; $41 million). Although she is way behind last year’s victor Floyd Mayweather with $300 million but she managed the top spot by a wide margin compared to competition.
Swift’s income in the last year was more than double her preceding year’s earnings of $US80 million, or $106 million.
Had Swift and Harris stayed together, they would have been this year’s top-earning couple, surpassing Beyonce Knowles and Jay-Z’s total of $107.5 million.
Second on the Forbes list this year is boy band One Direction, earning $110 million.
USA Today also reports that Taylor Swift’s ex-boyfriend, Calvin Harris also made the list at 21st place with $63 million.
Reality star Kim Kardashian, who features on the Forbes magazine cover, was 42nd on the list with earnings of $51 million. Kardashian has capitalized on mobile gaming, with 40% of her yearly paycheck coming from the Kim Kardashian: Hollywood game that has been downloaded 45 million times and generated $160 million in revenue since its June 2014 launch.
