Bernie Sanders’ Endorsement Of Hillary Clinton Leaves The Internet Feeling Conflicted

At a New Hampshire rally on Tuesday, Clinton’s biggest opponent for the democratic nomination gave in and backed the presumptive nominee.

Almost a month after the conclusion of the final Democratic primary, Bernie Sanders endorsed Hillary Clinton for president in a sometimes perfunctory address that focused heavily on the economic issues that animated his surprise upstart challenge to the former secretary of state.

The internet was quick to pick up on Sanders’ perceived discomfort, and rushed to quip about it.

“The strength of the endorsement was important”, Grijalva said on Tuesday of Sanders’ decision to formally back Clinton. And there is no doubt in my mind that as we head into November, Hillary Clinton is far and away the best candidate to do that.

Clinton told the crowd, which included some Sanders supporters who have been slow to come to Clinton’s side, that she was overjoyed to welcome “friends, old and new”.

“I do question her judgment”, he said in the video.

Either way, we can still expect to see an official conceding speech from the Senator either before or after the Philadelphia convention.

The intention of the rally was to unify the Democratic Party, but it was a tough sell for some of Sanders’ most ardent supporters.

Following the announcement, the potential future POTUS celebrated by excitedly proclaiming that she and Senator Sanders were coming together to defeat presumptive Republican nominee Donald Trump.

“A lot of people are not going to vote for her”, said Angel Picons, who fears many Sanders supporters won’t vote at all.

“I am proud to be fighting alongside you, because, my friends, this is a time for all of us to stand together”.

“While Donald Trump is busy insulting Mexicans and Muslims and women and African Americans and our veterans, Hillary Clinton understands that our diversity is one of our greatest strengths”, he said.
