New York man cooked cat in his apartment oven
A Batavia man has been arrested after police say he baked a cat in the oven of his apartment.

Light smoke filled his apartment as crews searched for the source of the possible fire.
Firefighters were seeking the source of the smoke when they discovered the cat.
Detective Hill said Annovi didn’t have any other animals that he was aware of and declined to comment on Annovi’s possible motive for killing the feline. The cat’s age unknown.
Batavia Police Department Police in Batavia, New York, arrested Darren Annovi, 42, on Monday, July 11, 2016 on one count of animal cruelty. He was scheduled to appear in court again 10 a.m. Wednesday.
He was arraigned in Batavia City Court and was being held without bail.

According to the Rochester TV station, Batavia police are working with management at the Batavia Housing Authority, which owns the apartment building, on the case.
