Warriors’ Green addresses assault charge for first time
But TMZ has new details that paint a different story than a simple argument and slap of Michigan State cornerback Jermaine Edmondson.

Edmondson, from Canton, Ohio, has appeared in 38 games at MSU.
Golden State Warriors power forward has Draymond Green addressed his arrest for the first time, labelling it as something he will learn from.
In his statement, Edmondson said he intends to press charges and cooperate fully with the East Lansing Police Department. The report reads that “he indicated he did”. He later noticed that Green’s associates choked his girlfriend as well. If convicted, he would face a maximum of 93 days in jail and a $500 fine.
Given Barkley was famous for throwing someone through a window during his playing career, perhaps it’s not a surprise that he said “good for Draymond Green”.
After the arrest, Green submitted to a preliminary breath test.
According to Edmondson’s statement to police, the incident stemmed from earlier in the evening when Green “bumped into him” at Rick Cafe, a downtown bar.
“I think when things happen, I think you meet them head on”, Green told reporters Tuesday in Aspen, Colorado.
Green allegedly responded by saying, “Do you know who I am?”
Edmonson told police that he was later grabbed by the throat by someone in the bar, but that he could not identify who. Edmondson says he told Green that “last night wasn’t cool” and Green started to poke him in the shoulder. It was then that officers witnessed Green strike Edmondson.
Following the altercation, police asked Edmondson is any injuries occurred or if he wanted medical attention.
Green’s lawyer, James Heos, told this newspaper Monday that “Draymond is completely innocent – “completely” should be capitalized”.
Tuesday, a MI judge waved his arraignment. Green was charged with non-aggravated assault and released on $200 bond. My legal team is handling it. As a public figure, I just can’t put myself in certain situations. I know the money in National Basketball Association free agency has gotten insane… but paying someone millions of dollars just to tweet is way above and beyond anything in sports as far as just burning money goes.
The Michigan State football program did not immediately reply to a request for comment on Wednesday regarding Edmondson’s involvement in the case.

The incident is unlikely to have any effect on his availability for Team USA in the Rio Olympics next month.
