Six Flags amusement park closed after receiving threat

July 13 A bomb threat shut a Six Flags Entertainment Corp theme park in Washington’s Maryland suburbs on Wednesday, local media reported. They posted on Twitter that, “The safety of our guests and employees is our top priority”.

The Prince George’s County Fire Department bomb squad is conducting an investigation. Authorities determined at least one of the packages was not explosive. As precaution, park closed until cleared.

“Out of an over-abundance of caution the bomb squad was dispatched to the scene to investigate the package”.

The park usually opens at 10:30 a.m. Park spokesman Roberto Baez confirmed that the park received a bomb threat and that the park is closed. A second suspicious package is now being investigated, fire officials said.
