Taylor Swift Is 2016’s Highest-Paid Celebrity (By a Lot)
Taylor Swift with $170 million in earnings tops Forbes’ annual celebrity 100 list ranking of the world’s highest-paid celebrities. The Shake It Off crooner’s star-studded 1989 World Tour earned more than US$200 million past year. She also rakes in heavy dough from ad deals with Apple, Diet Coke and Keds.

Taylor Swift’s DJ ex-boyfriend Calvin Harris is at 21st position on the magazine’s list with $63 million. Had they stayed together, they would have been the top-earning Celebrity 100 couple, more than doubling Beyonce and Jay Z’s $107.5 million total.
The bank account of Taylor Swift does not have anything to envy to other celebrities.
Next on the list was the boy band group One Direction with $110 million which might be their last collection as a group. This singer banked a reported $170 million, more than doubling her $80 million income previous year.
Last year’s list was topped by boxing star Floyd Mayweather, whose $300 million earnings in 2015 were nearly double Swift’s haul this year.
As for Perry, she fell at the No. 63 spot with her income of $41 million.
Now, Taylor swift can take it all in and relax.
Magazine editor Zack O’Malley Greenberg said live entertainment continued to be a major cash draw.
“From football games in Spain to concerts in China, fans are willing to shell out to see big names – and this is driving the celebrity economy to ever greater heights”, he said in a statement.
She also smashed the likes of Adele at No. 9 with $105 million, Madonna at $101 million and Rihanna who earned $99 million.

Kim Kardashian, who also features on the cover of the magazine, has managed the 42nd position earning United States dollars 45 million from just one game. The magazine promoted the Kardashian cover on Twitter at first, then added a Swift tweet.
