‘Outlander’ Season Two: Why Tomorrow Night’s Finale Was Worth The Wait

Claire’s gowns were worthy of a Fashion Week runway. That aside, let’s chat about her daughter. This spunky historian is the spitting image of her dad, only she has an American accent due to growing up in the USofA. So, why are these two in Scotland?

More Brianna and Roger: They probably won’t be in most episodes, but we will be seeing more of them, which is fantastic news for those of us who quickly fell in love with the pair during the finale. What could go wrong? The two of them hardcore get their sleuth on, and eventually end up trolling through the Reverend’s old journals, where they discover a newspaper clipping about Claire’s disappearance.

The Starz series entered its first season with a built in fanbase. Will Claire ditch her daughter to track down Jamie?

In Gabaldon’s book, Dragonfly in Amber, a trip to the 60s opens up the story and finishes off the book, but, as The Wall Street Journal points out, Outlander only took one journey to the era. She hadn’t even told him about it, but he had been counting. Brianna tests Gillian’s theories, and we see Brianna’s got Frank’s knack for reading between the lines and Claire’s stubbornness.

As “Dragonfly in Amber” unfolds, it’s that sense of breathlessness that suffuses much of the episode, with the Frasers drawn toward a conclusion the audience already knew to be inevitable: Claire’s return to the present. And will Frank really raise her unborn child – Jamie’s child – as his own?

After Claire and Murtagh signed the deed of sasine, Jamie ordered Fergus, the young orphan boy he adopted in France, to take the document to his sister Jenny Fraser at Lallybroch. But, even with extra time to work, Claire’s got her hands full, what with the Battle Of Culloden looming and the evil Black Jack Randall being Black Jack Randall all over the place. Graham McTavish: Definitely, definitely. “They sail that ship around the Caribbean, then there’s a hurricane and shipwreck”, Moore added.

Brianna wants to know about Jamie, “Tell me about him”. However, that’s not going to translate so well as we look back… Because apparently the rocks buzz?

Showrunner Ron Moore teased several details about the next season of the historic fantasy series during a Q&A session on Twitter.

Another scene from “Dragonfly in Amber” that had fans reaching for the tissue box was when Claire visited Culloden moor and started talking to the Clan Fraser headstone.

So, Claire traveled back.

The finale touched upon some of the rules for using the stones to travel through time, with Geillis suggesting a human sacrifice would be needed as a catalyst, yet Claire has never needed to offer a sacrifice. He’s so beloved. But I don’t know who he is yet. I think [viewers] will be satisfied with the emotional end – “Oh, this is how this happened, and this is why Claire was so freaked out at the hospital when she landed”. So, what happens when the three musketeers arrive at the rocks?

She continued, “We needed an actress who could bring some warmth to that character and we found that in Sophie”. All that time, Claire assumed Jamie had died in the Battle of Culloden, immediately after he sent her back to the future through the stones at Craigh na Dun.

“Outlander” features the literally timeless love story of a time traveller named Claire who goes back in time and meets Jamie.

But in Season 3, Jamie and Claire will also make new friends and enemies along the way, but – wonder of wonders – they will be relevant in ways that are more than just filler for a few episodes.
