Boon Sheridan, 45, discovered over the weekend that his house had been deemed a “gym”, a location which lures large numbers of players hoping to take control of the virtual landmark. Congrats! You can now join one of the three teams in the game (GO TEAM VALOR WOOOOO!) and start battling in gyms.
The Pokémon GO game has exploded since it launched in the past week or so.
“Living in an old church means many things”, he wrote on Twitter.
The steady stream of Pokemon players has yet to stop, and it seems Mr Sheridan can’t really do anything about it.

Apparently, places like parks and churches are likely to become gyms in the game. But it still meant that cars were regularly pulling up outside of his house so that their phone would log their location. The odd behaviour of people around his location – people turning up at all times and then leaving soon after – could easily lead people to speculate that drug dealing or other crime was happening there. In the USA, where the law in some states stipulates that homeowners may kill trespassers, that could have deadly consequences.
