Lawyer: Cop who shot Castile thought he was a suspect
For those who aren’t familiar with the widely publicized case, Castile was shot four times and killed during a routine-traffic stop.

Police officers Jeronimo Yanez and Joseph Kauser were identified last week as the two Minnesota officers involved in Castile’s shooting death.
The View recently aired a segment that featured Philando Castile’s fiancé Diamond Reynolds. “That was one of the reasons he pulled him over”, Kelly said.
A Minnesota police officer said Philando Castile resembled a robbery suspect before he pulled him over for what would turn out to be a fatal traffic stop, according to dispatcher audio obtained by ABC News.
The day Barack Obama was elected POTUS – a feat many people thought never would happen in America – plans were set in motion to return the White House to the kind of person some think is the righful occupant: A white, elitist male who says what most of his constituents are thinking, but are too afraid to say.
Police spokesman Cpl L’ Jean McKneely said that on Tuesday, officers were called to the scene at around 12:35am after reports that a man selling CDs outside a convenience store had pointed a gun at someone. On Thursday, Minnesota Governor Mark Dayton said that he believed Castile would still be alive if he and the other passengers in the vehicle had been white.
The cast of people with a role in the Philando Castile police shooting case continues to grow. Although Alton Sterling’s death is still under investigation, Philando’s death has already been ruled a homicide and numerous factors that contributed to this decision have been revealed.
Court records reviewed by the AP show Castile had no felony record but had been pulled over dozens of times since 2002 for a variety of minor offenses including speeding, driving without a muffler and not wearing a seat belt. Police officers prejudice each time they have encounter with a black and the end result is always tragic.
Kelly told AP on Saturday that Yanez reacted to Castile’s gun – not his race.
But in a search warrant affidavit, a Baton Rouge detective provided a police account of what unfolded that night.
A lawyer representing the officer who shot Castile told the station on Tuesday that the details included in the recording were accurate, but did not vouch for the tape itself.
Also, those in the majority race who would like to get involved or who are in support of the Black Lives Matter movement, speak up and get involved.
Reynolds, whose 4-year-old daughter was in the backseat when police pulled over Castile last week for allegedly having a broken tail light, said her boyfriend informed police he was licensed to carry a gun, but the weapon was never displayed. I am horrified that we are forced to confront yet another death of a young African-American man at the hands of law enforcement. Her son was killed during a traffic stop in Minnesota. In other countries the police don’t even have guns.

Moments later, after being told that medics were on the way, the officer – apparently out of breath – says that a woman has been taken into custody and the driver was being held “at gunpoint”.
