Severe thunderstorms, possible hail expected in central Iowa

The National Weather Service office in Valley said a few severe storms are possible across the region, especially late this morning and this afternoon.

Buchanan and Doniphan counties are under severe thunderstorm watches and warnings. The Weather Channel predicted thunderstorms from shortly before 1 p.m. until 4 p.m. for Ottumwa. Damaging wind and large hail is the primary threat.Although isolated tornadoes are possible.
