Anderson should have been in England squad for Lord’s Test

“It doesn’t matter what people think and we are not here to answer what people think”.

Riaz, who made his Test debut at The Oval six years ago and also played in the controversial match at Lord’s, said Amir could handle being in the spotlight this week. We felt empty when we took the wickets to win the match and did not celebrate. That is all we are thinking.

Stuart Broad will lead the bowling attack when the Lord’s Test begins next week and he knows plenty about Ball’s capabilities having spent time up close with the 25-year-old at Nottinghamshire.

“What happened has gone now so the best thing is that [Amir] can perform well”.

“I saw him all week, and he seemed okay. he was pretty certain that he would be in the squad. he will be disappointed”.

Amir made his global comeback earlier this year in New Zealand and was subjected to loud boos by the crowd.

“Very excited to have Mohammad Amir back in the Test squad, he’s not been a part of the Pakistan team for a long time but now he’s back”, he said. “We will support him and we really want him to do well”, he added.

His comments on the Pakistan bowler echo those of former England teammate Graeme Swann, who said that Amir’s return at Lord’s would make him feel sick. “But, in the past year, things are getting better and better”, he said. [The warm-up matches] did give us good confidence.

“But as a team it is unsafe for us to get waylaid by that”.

“We are not anxious about who England has picked or who they haven’t picked”, he added. Ballance was the spare batsman in South Africa, but he was not deemed ready for a recall against Sri Lanka earlier this season, instead James Vince filling the middle-order spot created by James Taylor’s retirement.

Their lack of variation was clear to all throughout the entire tour and England had their way with them in both white and red ball fixtures.

He will now be closely monitored by England’s medical team ahead of the Test with Yorkshire’s director of cricket, Martyn Moxon, warning that his recovery could not be taken for granted. Root dismissed it as trash talking. But my schedule is too busy at the moment and my loyalty to England that means at this stage I would not want to work against them. “Every batsman has a strong point and a weak point”.

Nov 03: Salman Butt is sentenced to two-and-a-half years in prison, Asif to 12 months and Amir six months.

“Against quite a few attacks you can get away with a false technique but not Pakistan”. We are the most rude when it comes to it. We are nice but if somebody is rude we won’t [hold back].

Moxon said: “Gary’s got a bit of a tight groin which he sustained on Friday in the T20 against Birmingham”.
