People all over the world have been playing the free-to-play augmented reality game and posting all about their Pokemon adventures. “I don’t think anyone should go in there, because it’s a veteran’s hospital there are more things that are more important things to attend to then a game”. Players are then rewarded with a new Pokemon, as well as sweets and stardust – the in-game currencies that are used to raise a Pokemon’s combat power (CP).

So Tuesday, I downloaded the game and hit Main Street in Hendersonville to find out. Authorities wondered for a while whether the teens somehow lured players to the site, but it appears the teens simply sought out a Pokestop where they could find players.Sgt. When there aren’t Pokemon to be found, Pokemon Go gives users landmarks to visit, known as “Pokestops”.
Plenty of people were enjoying the hot, sunny day on the sidewalks downtown, many on their phones. One more reason why Gyms are actually worth the trouble is that players who have Pokemon in a gym will earn in-game currency to spend, based on how many gyms a player has Pokemon in. Just look for people walking toward arbitrary points on the sidewalk and stopping, phone camera pointed somewhere on the ground about 10 feet in front of them, or at a brick wall or a planter box.
They stare at the screen, flick their thumb on it a couple times, smile and continue on down the sidewalk, consulting their phones for direction.
South Floridians are ignoring the scorching heat and walking miles to catch Pokemon, the fictional animal-like characters that have been popular in games and cartoons since the 1990s. It’s gone on to include films, comics, card games, video games and more. Water Pokemon have been found along the boardwalk, as well as the flying Pokemon Doduo, a two-headed bird. He says, “he told me hey man, there are a bunch of Poke stops out here and I was like “oh what” so I checked it out earlier today I drove by and I saw there was a lot of Poke stops here so I said lets go”.
Poke Stops are places to stop and get supplies, like Pokeballs, which are used to catch the little monsters. “I have started accompanying them everywhere whenever they play the game”, he said. Quick work for less than a block’s walk.
“When we have our meet-ups [to play Pokemon Go] we’ll have all kinds of people show up – college students, people in their 30s in business attire, the cops show up and play”.
And if it seems like everyone is playing, it’s because they are. In about 30 minutes walking the Main Street sidewalks, I counted almost a dozen.

That, indeed, is what makes the game both unique and interesting. Once you reach higher levels, you’ll also begin to get Great Balls and Ultra Balls from PokeStops, although you’ll want to reserve those for harder to catch Pokemon.

Taking into consideration that the game has changed significantly as compared to older games, playing “Pokemon Go” could be quite a task for new and old players alike. The relative treasure trove of Poke Stops along Main Street make it an attractive place to get some gaming done, especially since he’s got none at home.
