Christie, appointed a U.S. attorney one day before September 11, said he has gone before the FISA court and prosecuted and jailed terrorists.

“If you think it’s bad now, you should have seen it when I got there”, Christie said. “I’m talking about searches without warrants, indiscriminately of all Americans’ records”. John McCain’s time as a prisoner of war in North Vietnam and, in fact, his lead grew even larger.
I am sure it would give Christie a boost in the polls and solidify his standing as a violent, bullying looney worthy of Republican voter support.
Paul, on the other hand, who could have won this debate on the merits, loses it by going full Paul and yelling his objections at Christie.
“How are you supposed to know?”
Christie’s comments at a fundraiser in his home state Tuesday came hours after the 52-year-old learned he had qualified to appear with nine other candidates at the debate hosted by Fox News. But he also flippantly dismisses the 4th Amendment and Paul’s argument by appealing nearly exclusively to emotion.
“When you’re sitting in the subcommittee just blowing hot air about this, you can say things like that”, Christie said.
“Here’s the problem governor”, Paul shot back. Did any of you get a phone call from Bill Clinton? Every time you did a case, you got a warrant from a judge. “That’s what I fought to end”.
He then accused Paul of demagoguery and using the issue to raise money for his campaign.
But Mr. Christie sure walked into it as Mr. Paul tied him to President Obama on this issue – quickly invoking Mr. Christie’s hug with the president during the final weeks of the 2012 presidential campaign, when Mr. Obama went to New Jersey in the midst of Hurricane Sandy.
Mr. Christie decided to go after Rand Paul, attacking him for his opposition to national antiterrorism surveillance policies.
An angered Christie responded: “You know what Senator Paul?” In the words of one voter among the 18 percent who mentioned Christie’s personality, “I am exhausted of the loudmouth Jersey guy routine”. And those had nothing to do with politics. One is Trump. It’s unclear whether the debate deflated his momentum – moderator Megyn Kelly’s question pressing him on derogatory remarks he’s made over the years about women certainly has the chance to inflict damage.

The debate, held at Quicken Loans Arena in Cleveland, is ongoing. Moreover, Christie – who lately that the American Federation of Academics, a nationwide academics’ union, deserved a “punch within the face” – has additionally fallen to new lows over his work on schooling and faculties within the state.
