Is Theresa May good for the US?
Ashley Fox, who leads the British Conservatives in the European Parliament, says he is confident new British prime minister Theresa May will secure a Brexit deal “that is in the best interests of both Britain and our European partners”.

Although May campaigned to remain in the European Union, she is widely seen as a “Eurosceptic” and has said repeatedly that she will honor the result of the referendum despite calls from some quarters for a re-vote.
May, who campaigned half-heartedly for Britain to stay in the European Union, has said “Brexit means Brexit” and vowed to “make a success of it”.
Yesterday, after her rival Mrs Andrea Leadsom pulled out of the race for the Conservative party leadership, Ms May told journalists and supporters that she was “honoured and humbled” to be chosen for the job.
But Conservative members of parliament anxious that she might win the leadership race anyway, because the people who decide that are the 150,000 paid-up Conservative Party members, a socially conservative, middle-class group with an average age of 60.
In his final question and answer session in the House of Commons, Cameron echoed a line he used to launch himself with in 2005, taunting Labour’s then-prime minister Tony Blair.
May, who had favored a vote to stay in the European Union, was left as the last woman standing after three leading rivals from the referendum’s winning Leave campaign self-destructed in the course of a short-lived leadership race.
“I stood up to the American government and I stopped it”, May said in her speech announcing her leadership bid in June.
The Muslim Council of Britain also released a gallery of “100 hate incidents” it had taken from social media.
May’s win by default will put the first women in the Prime Minister position since Thatcher.
They say primary legislation will be needed before Article 50 of the Lisbon Treaty – the route via which members states leave the European Union – can be triggered.
“It’s not been an easy journey and of course we’ve not got every decision right”, he said, “but I do believe that today our country is much stronger”.
May has already declared that she will push forward with Brexit, despite a backlash of concerns from members of parliament, British citizens and world leaders.
May has said she will appoint a cabinet-level Brexit minister along with a Brexit department to spearhead the negotiations with other European nations.
While Scotland voted to remain part of the United Kingdom in 2014, with 55% of people voting against independence, First Minister Nicola Sturgeon has now said another independence referendum could be on the table following Brexit.
“She’s always got up three hours before everybody else and knows five times more than anyone else in the room”, the source added.
She said: “First, we need a bold, new, positive vision for the future of our country – a vision of a country that works for everyone – not just the privileged few”, she will say.
After months of simmering discontent among Labour lawmakers with party leader Corbyn, the conflict exploded into the open after the referendum when the vast majority of the lawmakers rejected his leadership, accusing him of failing to campaign vigorously enough for a Remain vote.
May campaigned as a safe pair of hands who will help bridge Conservative Party divisions and restore investor confidence in the face of a potential economic downturn.

Corbyn has clung to his job, citing support from the party grassroots members, and the 116-year-old party is now locked in a bitter power tussle that risks destroying it.
