Donald Trump is leading in polls from key states
Hillary Clinton, standing inside the same chamber that helped shape Abraham Lincoln into the father of the Republican Party, argued Wednesday that Donald Trump was perverting what his party once stood for.

Presumptive presidential nominees Hillary Clinton and Donald Trump are in a dead heat at 41 percentage points each in OH, according to a new poll of registered voters by Quinnipiac University released Wednesday.
In Pennsylvania, the poll showed Trump with 43 per cent to Clinton’s 41 per cent of 982 voters surveyed. Clinton’s team still has reason to be optimistic about Florida.
Nine out of 10 self-identified Democrats said they supported Clinton (93%), while 3% said they were backing Trump and 1% said they wanted a third-party candidate.
The polls, which were conducted around the same time the Justice Department made a decision to not pursue criminal charges against Clinton for her use of a private email server while leading the State Department, show the issue is likely to keep dogging her campaign. Now, Trump edges Clinton 42% to 39%, within the margin of error; a month ago, Clinton led 47% to 39%. “He has wiped out Hillary Clinton’s lead in Florida; is on the upside of too-close to call races in Florida and Pennsylvania and is locked in a dead heat in OH”, said Peter A. Brown, assistant director of the Quinnipiac University Poll. When they were factored in, Trump and Clinton were tied at 37 percent, while Johnson got 7 percent and Stein 4 percent.
Nevertheless, the poll indicates Trump has momentum as Republicans prepare to gather next week in Cleveland for the GOP national convention. For instance, in Florida, which has a large Hispanic population, Trump is winning only 21 percent of nonwhite voters.

Mrs Clinton then turned to electoral politics, labelling the campaign of Donald Trump, her Republican opponent “divisive” and “dangerous”. (Clinton’s lead was 9 points back then). That result lines up with a Quinnipiac poll released earlier Wednesday morning, which showed a 41-41 tie among majority-party presidential candidates in the Buckeye State. Finally, Trump and Clinton are a bit closer in OH, with 37 and 36 percent, while Johnson and Stein have just 7, respectively 6 percent. The poll did find that voters think she’s smarter and better prepared to be president than Trump, but they don’t think she’s as moral or honest.
