On Monday, Crowell, who said he posted the image in the aftermath of police-involved shooting deaths of Alton Sterling in Louisiana and Philando Castile in Minnesota, apologized for what he called “a extremely poor decision”.
“We make several jokes about it during class: “I have a gun” is not the way to say you have a gun on you”, Wellman said.
Judge Glenda Hatchett and The Hatchett Law Firm will represent the family of Philando Castile.
The audio recording, which was given by a viewer to Minneapolis’ KARE-TV Tuesday, is purportedly police radio traffic from the time Castile’s vehicle was pulled over Thursday. I am also outraged and saddened by the attacks in Dallas and the deaths of the five honorable police officers (Lorne Ahrens, Michael Krol, Michael J. Smith, Brent Thompson and Patrick Zamarripa) who were providing protection while trying to keep peace.
St. Anthony Police Chief Jon Mangseth was not immediately available to respond to a request for comment. According to the documents, if an officer believes it’s a high-risk stop – as one involving an armed robbery suspect would likely be – he should have the driver and others exit the auto before approaching the vehicle, while officers take cover and draw their weapons. He had no serious criminal record.
“I am now stepping beyond the bench, the other side of the bench”, she said at a news conference near the Minnesota state Capitol and the Cathedral of St. Paul, where the funeral for the 32-year-old school cafeteria worker will be held this week. “There’s never a time I saw him driving in the auto with his weapon on his person”.

Hatchett, the mother of two African-American sons in their early 30s, said the case hit home and the first thing she did upon meeting Castile’s mother, Valerie Castile, was give the woman a hug “as one mother to another”. Reynolds says Castile told the officer he had a permit to carry a firearm, then reached for his wallet before Officer Yanez fired.
