Hassan Whiteside: AP: Whiteside told teammate he’d stay in MII

It was reported just before free agency began that representatives from Miami Heat guard Dwyane Wade reached out to the Mavericks to express interest in Dallas. Last year DeAndre Jordan ditched them in the cruelest of ways, and it feels like Mark Cuban has been pursuing Dwight Howard for about a decade now.

Coming into 2016 National Basketball Association free agency, one of the names that has been on the minds of Los Angeles Lakers is undoubtedly Hassan Whiteside of the Miami Heat. “I’m not ready for there to be a ninth”. The decision likely will force the Heat to renounce Wade’s rights regardless of Durant’s decision. Then maybe they’d try to keep Deng, and they still have to bring back Dwyane Wade when the dust settles. Whiteside will sign a four-year contract that’s worth the maximum that the Heat could offer which is about $98 million, according to the Associated Press.

Wade’s ability to not just score, but to do so without needing ideal passes from his teammates can turn him into a quality signing for many teams.

This isn’t the first time that Wade has been uncertain about his future with the Heat.

Regardless of what the final numbers will be, it is life-changing money after a breakout season.

The Spurs though are not the only team being considered by Wade.

The Heat are still trying to maintain flexibility by re-signing Hassan Whiteside and trying to convince Kevin Durant to take his talents to South Beach.

Wade ended his tweet with the hashtag, “Caniborrow5dollars”, a nod to the financial stratosphere Whiteside will soon enter. The same thing could happen this summer, but the Heat will have to act fast as Wade is already engaged in talks with other teams.

Wade took a one year, $20 million contract last season. He became the player he is today because of his playing time in Miami.
