With the convention approaching, Sanders said there has been a significant coming together between the two campaigns and we produced, by far, the most progressive platform in the history of the Democratic Party.
She made a strong bid for Sanders’ supporters by offering an enthusiastic thank you to “everyone who poured their heart and soul” into his campaign. “That’s what democracy is about”.
Bernie Sanders endorsed Hillary Clinton for the Democratic presidential nomination.
Clinton was the target of a Snapchat filter when conservative group Judicial Watch sponsored one on the day of her Benghazi testimony last October.
“The problem with the Democratic Party is that we believe we have to unify around a person and that’s what’s decimating us as a party”.
In recent weeks Sanders has influenced the Democratic Party platform on a number of issues, including minimum wage, giving some of his supporters hope for a Hillary presidency.
“Hillary Clinton understands that we must fix an economy in America that is rigged and that sends nearly all new wealth and income to the top 1 percent”, Sanders said, before drawing a contrast with Republican Donald Trump. Bernie Sanders stand together during a campaign rally where Sanders endorsed Clinton in Portsmouth, New Hampshire, U.S., July 12, 2016.
He also criticised Clinton’s presumptive Republican opponent Donald Trump for his “reckless economic policies”, which he warned could lead to trillions of dollars of debt.
Mr Sanders defeated Mrs Clinton in New Hampshire’s primary contest in February.
Stein – who has always been a vocal critic of Clinton – disagreed, tweeting, “many Bernie hearts are breaking right now” and including an emoji of a breaking heart.
“She’s a crook, and I’m not going to vote for a crook”, Bailey said, adding that she would write in Sanders’ name on the November ballot.
