In addition to running W’s communication’s team, she was also a senior adviser to the Palin-McCain campaign in 2008.

The View will air pre-taped episodes next week including a farewell show for Perez, who is also leaving the ABC daytime show at the end of this season. Wallace recently renewed her contract as a contributor for MSNBC, where she frequently appears on “Morning Joe”.

Double-digit ratings drops to The View did in Wallace and Perez.

Loosely translated: Wallace was not up to speed on the Kardashians and not shrill enough to be The View’s conservative talking head.

Co-hosts Whoopi Goldberg, Nicolle Wallace, Raven-Symoné, and guest co-hosts Michelle Collins and Sara Haines talk about the latest Hot Topics with D.L. Hughley. And though she came back on the show the next day after the press reported this news and demonstrated her Kommanding Kardashian Knowledge, she was nonetheless replaced in that role by new co-host Candace Cameron Bure, former Full House star, and Kirk Cameron’s sister. So it’s perhaps not surprising that she turned down an offer to be a recurring contributor. That would have been an easy way for ABC to eventually have phased her out.

After a season of upheaval and low ratings following the departure of the show’s creator, Barbara Walters and longtime executive producer Bill Geddie, “The View” will relaunch again in September.
