Motorola Officially Announce the Moto E3

It looks like Lenovo’s Moto refresh isn’t yet complete, with the company today announcing a new Moto E handset.

The Motorola Moto E3 will feature a 5-inch 720p display and will be powered by a quad-core CPU.

As for the Moto G4 Play, we’re looking at a quad-core Snapdragon 410 processor, 2800mAh battery, 2GB of RAM, 16GB of internal storage, and a 5-inch HD display. Further, this dual SIM smartphone is shipped with Android 6.0 Marshmallow out of the box. This is one feature that had been there on the earlier Moto G and Moto E smartphones, but was missing from the latest Moto G4 and Moto G4 Plus.

Motorola hasn’t said much about the design of the Moto E3, but from the pictures it’s clear that it has a plain plastic back in black or white, with the usual Motorola dimple. In the United Kingdom it will cost you £99 (around US$130, AU$170) and the handset will be available from Tesco, Amazon, Argos, O2 and other selected retailers.

We are expecting more information on the specifications and global roll out date very soon! That £99 figure makes the Moto E3 roughly $130 or so, but that’s a straight conversion, and the official price will no doubt be a little less than that. Not much else is known about the smartphone at this point, but Motorola has confirmed (via The Verge) the smartphone will feature a “built-in smudge-resistant screen protector”.

The Moto G4 Play will hit United Kingdom shelves in August and will cost only £129, cutting £40 off what was already an extremely reasonable price. This new device will be an addition to the Moto E series which will update the existing Moto E2. By coming with pure, unadulterated Android and getting even cheaper. And note that, with this device sporting a 5-inhc display, now there are no devices left out with a display less than 5-inches in the Moto line-up. For $399, you get quite a lot of phone, notably a big screen and a great camera.
