Prince Harry Takes Instant HIV Test; Results Are Fine
Prince Harry has broadcast a live HIV test online in an effort to “destigmatise” the process.

Prince Harry took the test at Burrell Street Sexual Health Centre in Southwark where his appearance was announced shortly before his arrival.
Harry has always been an activist when it comes to HIV and AIDS.
Ian Green, Chief Executive of Terrence Higgins Trust, praised the Royal’s decision to take part in a live test on social media as a “groundbreaking moment in the fight against HIV”.
Robert Palmer, a health adviser who carried out the procedure, admitted that the prince looked “anxious” during the test.
It covers the boroughs of Lambeth and Southwark which have some of the highest rates of sexually transmitted infections – including HIV – in England, according to Public Health England.
“We have a real opportunity to end HIV transmissions in the United Kingdom, but it starts with each person knowing their HIV status”.
“This one you can know straight away”, said the doctor.
The 31-year-old fifth in line to the country’s throne, who tested negative for the deadly virus, was made to raise awareness about HIV and AIDS.
The prince had to wait a few moments before the negative result was indicated by a blue spot in the tray.
According to figures from the THT, around 103,700 people are living with HIV in the United Kingdom and 6,000 people are diagnosed every year.
In 2014 nearly 85,500 people were accessing HIV treatment and care, more than double the number (41,157) in 2004, and a 5% increase on 2013.
He said: “This is a test for everybody – it doesn’t matter who you are, it’s a good idea to have a HIV test”. Harry will also be, per the Palace, continuing “his work to focus minds on the fight against HIV and AIDS when he attends the World AIDS conference in Durban”, which will take place next week.
“Once you’ve got people through the door, that’s the hardest bit out the way”, said Harry.
“The Prince is now determined to help his generation understand that the battle against the disease has not yet been won and still needs fighting”, a royal spokesperson said.

During the procedure, which is literally a finger prick, Harry asked what are the biggest fears of people coming in for tests.
