According to Google’s summary of what “full account access” entails, granting such access means “the application can see and modify nearly all information in your Google Account”.

Niantic did not immediately respond to a request for comment about Franken’s inquiry.

Version 1.01 addresses what developer Niantic calls the “Google account scope”, meaning that the game no longer demands access to the entirety of the player’s Google account as in the launch version. Once the server capacity improves, the game will be launched in many regions.
