Murray ‘unlikely’ to play for Britain against Serbia
There was an outpouring of emotions from Roger Federer fans after Milos Raonic staged an upset in Wimbledon 2016 semis with 6-3, 6-7 (3), 4-6, 7-5, 6-3 win over the 17-time Grand Slam Champion on Friday.

After suffering painful defeats in eight of his previous ten Grand Slam finals, the Briton is now eyeing to use the Wimbledon victory as a ladder to success.
Murray said: “I’m pumped for Rio, I think it will be a great event”. For 14-years straight, we have either seen Roger Federer, Novak Djokovic, or Rafael Nadal in the Wimbledon finals.
“You kind of get dragged in all sorts of directions afterwards and I want to spend this time with my family and my closest friends, the people I work with, that’s who I want to be around, “Murray responded when asked on what he would do to celebrate his second title at Wimbledon”.
Reid’s singles achievement follows his doubles title from Saturday when he and Alfie became the first all-Brit partnership to win the Wimbledon wheelchair tennis men’s doubles title.
Italian Riccardo Piatti is the longest-serving member of Raonic’s three-man coaching team, which also includes former world number one Carlos Moya, having worked with the Canadian since the end of 2013.
“Whereas now I feel a lot more motivated throughout the whole year and at all of the events”.
But he has aged so gracefully that the perfection and elegance of his game makes us want more of him and it gives his fans a belief that he will beat all odds to finally add one more Grand Slam title to his kitty. The win feels extra special because of the tough losses…
Way back when, at Wimbledon in 2012, he became only the second man in tennis history to come up short in the first four Grand Slam finals of his career (the other was Murray’s coach, Ivan Lendl, but more on him later).
In the clip above the Duke of Cambridge can be heard saying to Murray: “Congratulations, I don’t know how you manage it with no sleep”.
“I appreciate he came to support yesterday and came to watch and like I said afterwards- it’s one of the hardest jobs in the world with lots and lots of responsibility”. But Djokovic retains a huge lead and it would take a highly unlikely set of results for Murray to be within range this year.
“There was no dancing for me and Serena Williams at the ball – I think the tradition had finished until Novak Djokovic wanted to do it a year ago”, he told BBC Sport.
“I feel happier this time,”Murray said, albeit in his gravely monotone”.
“It’s usually just a handshake but for Wimbledon he makes an exception – and I think he might even have got a bit emotional”.
Rest will be the priority over the next few days with Murray having virtually confirmed he will not be playing in Great Britain’s Davis Cup quarter-final against Serbia this weekend.
