Black Lives Matter march happening now in downtown Tulsa
In a new video posted, Taylor speaks out on the matter like many others have been by using the #BlackLivesMatter hashtag following the deaths of Alton Sterling and Philando Castile at the hands of police officers. Turner and Mayor Kasim Reed went to the scene for a late-night meeting with Black Lives Matter protest leaders and got an agreement for a week’s cooling off period followed by a formal meeting downtown next Monday.

“I couldn’t understand how I went from a peaceful protestor, to a person that’s assisting to now I’m the most wanted man in America, it didn’t make sense to me”, Mark said. “This is ultimately a cry for help”.
Guiliani continued, “When you say ‘black lives matter, ‘ that’s inherently racist”. The worst thing that could happen now is to think that Black Lives Matter as a movement means nothing at all when actually it could be the most important thing we have at this very moment.
We are all reeling from a brutal week in our nation’s history, one that began with reports of two more police-involved shootings caught on tape in Louisiana and Minnesota in which trigger-happy officers took the lives of black men who posed no immediate threat to them.
“People have asked me before, ‘Well, is Black Lives Matter a legitimate saying or do all lives matter?’, and my first is all life matters”.
“It’s going on all around the world, it’s happening all around the world and right here in our home”, Bobby Scott said.
“At a time when our country, when we are talking past each other, the president’s convening allowed us to hear one another”, said Los Angeles mayor Eric Garcetti. On four consecutive days, a Black man in America was killed or found dead.
The Dallas massacre of innocent police officers hurts everyone.
“I think that too often we comment about statistics”.
Police groups and activists emerged from the meeting saying they did not always agree with each other on the issues, but they did concur that the meeting was productive and could lead to building trust and improving accountability in police departments.
But right-wingers easily pushed back, dismissing the movement with the retort, “All lives matter”.
Bratton asserted that policing is “a shared responsibility” between police officers and civilians, and said “everybody’s voice needs to be heard”. Former President George W. Bush said the slain officers were “the best among us” and spoke of the risks that police take, not for someone close to them, but for strangers.

“No one got shot” is perhaps a meagerly low bar to hurdle, but in these times fraught with polarization it might be the only level we deserve to consider right now.
