Son of Louisiana man killed by police speaks out

The lawsuit claims police used excessive force, physically and verbally abused protesters, and made wrongful arrests to disperse demonstrators.

Another eyewitness told the plaintiffs that she saw peaceful protestors “violently attacked and arrested, assault weapons pointed at them with fingers on the triggers”.

The investigation into the shooting of Sterling is now being led by the U.S. Department of Justice’s civil rights division.

Lines of police officers and sheriff’s deputies wearing riot gear confronted several hundred protesters on Friday night near Baton Rouge Police Headquarters while other officers carrying military-style rifles and wearing heavy body armor stood nearby.

The governor has defended the police, calling their response “moderate”. Everyone should come together as one united family. One officer shoots Noble twice, and he falls to the ground.

Cameron’s comments Wednesday followed the arrests of three suspects in an alleged plot that authorities called a “substantial, credible threat” to police. “One person was arrested at the scene”.

Police have not identified the fourth suspect, who is still at large, but are asking that he turn himself in.

State Police Superintendent Mike Edmonson said information regarding the plot revealed “an actual, credible threat” against police.

Muflahi owns the Baton Rouge Triple S Food Mart where Sterling was killed, and has filed a lawsuit with the Baton Rouge district court.

“Yet Alton Sterling is on the long list of Black people killed needlessly by our nation’s police, and protests in his honor have turned into circuses of violence where the First Amendment is tossed aside”.

Eight handguns were stolen from the pawnshop, six of which have been recovered, Debadie said.

The first suspect told police “the reason the burglary was being done was to harm police officers” the chief said.
