Nintendo shares up more than 50% since Pokemon Go release

Pokemon Go has become something of a global phenomenon with analytics companies now showing that the game is actually overtaking the likes of Facebook, Snapchat and Twitter.

Despite the game not being available in Britain until now, thousands of players in the United Kingdom have already downloaded the app by changing their region settings or using unofficial app stores, a move which led to warnings of malware from security experts.

While enjoying the game, the user is exposed to many threats and introduces whole new categories of life risks, the firm said, adding that Pokemon Go’s real-world gameplay has been linked to armed robberies as criminals have used the game to locate and lure intended targets.

“Pokemon Go” developer Niantic apologized a year ago for making Nazi concentration camps part of its mobile role-playing game “Ingress”. Niantic seemed to get control of the server crashes over the weekend, although the game still gets slow during peak hours.
