Tom Brady’s ‘Deflategate’ appeal rejected
New England Patriots quarterback Tom Brady’s bid to overturn his four-match “Deflate-gate” ban has been rejected by a United States appeals court. Not only that, but he will be four games more rested than everyone else, meaning that he will be EXTRA fresh for those critical January and February games.

Judges Denny Chin and Barrington D. Parker ruled in favor of the league, while Chief Judge Robert A. Katzmann ruled for Brady.
“I believe that personally he didn’t do anything wrong, but beyond that, this is to me much bigger than that”. Backup quarterback Jimmy Garoppolo would take over in those games.
Unfortunately for Brady and his quest to avoid a four-game suspension to start the 2016 season, his chances of being granted a stay or having his petition for certiorari granted are both long shots at best. The Patriots could have a 3-1 record at this stretch, losing on the road to the Steelers.
The Patriots must have a strong second half.
If the Patriots can have success with Cassel, why can’t they win with Garoppolo?
The players’ union sued on Brady’s behalf after his suspension was upheld in July 2015, and a federal judge threw out the suspension allowing him to complete the 2015 season. The Patriots and their coach, Bill Belichick, will have to find a way to remain in the Super Bowl-contending mix without Brady in the lineup for a quarter of the regular season, undoubtedly employing the same us-against-the-world approach that served them so well during their march to a almost flawless season in the aftermath of the Spygate ordeal almost 10 years ago.
With a blossoming young defense, the Patriots shouldn’t have to light up the scoreboard to win this season. That means he’ll miss the Patriots first game against the Bills in Week 4.
The first four games would be the key for the the Patriots. He also would play games at home Sept. 18 against the Miami Dolphins, Sept. 22 against the Houston Texans and October 2 against the Buffalo Bills.
National Football League teams are always looking for their next starting quarterback to lead them to the promise land. They are not quite as lucky.
June 24: In a HBO interview, actor and Patriots fan Ben Affleck goes on an expletive-filled rant about Deflategate. But the Patriots thought highly enough of his skill set to select him with the 62nd pick in the draft, despite the fact that he played college ball at Eastern Illinois in Division I-AA.

The Patriots could certainly keep Garoppolo around for the security, but they are extremely likely to lose him when he hits free agency anyway.
