With Bernie Sanders’ endorsement of Hillary Rodham Clinton today he gains power and influence over the long-term direction of the Democratic party and potentially the policies of the next administration.
Sanders said the revolution to transform America will continue.
Trump, who previously said Sanders has been “treated terribly by the Democrats” and should have run as an independent, wasted no time going after the Vermont senator.
“He’s got some heavy lifting to do to convince them that this is the right thing for our country”, Dramer said. Several Sanders supporters left the room as Clinton began speaking, while another turned her back for the entire speech. Bernie Sanders, I-Vt. speaks during a rally in Portsmouth, N.H., Tuesday, where Sanders endorsed Clinton. He now plans on voting for Donald Trump.
The merger of the two camps, however, might not be as smooth as planned since some of Sanders’ supporters aren’t ready to vote for Clinton, according to Fortune.
Both candidates said the nation would suffer if Republican and billionaire businessman Donald Trump were elected president. “We’re better positioned than ever to do just that, thanks in part to the recently adopted progressive Democratic Platform and the vigorous primary campaign marked by the energy and enthusiasm of millions of new, and young, voters”. Despite lagging behind Clinton in the total amount of superdelegates, Sanders only trailed Clinton by 359 pledged delegates. Comey also discovered that she had used multiple devices for those emails. To them, Sanders represented the most honest and authentic candidate for President they had ever encountered.
Sanders responded, “Would she be interested in being my vice president?” Now he’s promised to help Clinton campaign against Donald Trump.
It’s clear that Sanders’ endorsement is a crucial step for Clinton.
