Clinton postpones Scranton event with Biden after Dallas shooting

Pence is considered a leading candidate to be Trump’s running mate, and he’s listed as a host of Tuesday’s Indianapolis event on an invitation obtained by The Associated Press. Trump also canceled a planned rally in Miami.

Tennessee Sen. Bob Corker and former House Speaker Newt Gingrich both appeared at rallies with Trump this week.

Trump reiterated his support for such a plan Monday, saying his proposal would go further than the Veterans Choice program, a centerpiece of the 2014 VA overhaul. In the end, Sanford suggested that issue might be enough to tilt him to vote for Trump, something initially he didn’t think he would do.

Informed of AP’s findings, Trump said any misrepresentation would be unacceptable.

“Racial divisions have gotten worse, not better”, Trump said. “If it’s not made in the U.S., we’ll bring a lawsuit”.

He called on the nation to “stand in solidarity with law enforcement”, saying, “A brutal attack on our police force is an attack on our country, and an attack on our families”.

Minnesota’s capital kept its cool entering a third straight day of protests over the killing of a black man at the hands of police, with demonstrators encamped outside the governor’s mansion looking set for…

“The senseless tragic deaths of two motorists in Louisiana and Minnesota reminds us how much needs to be done”, he said.

“We’ve got to do much more to listen to one another, to respect each other”, including supporting both law enforcement and Americans “who have deadly encounters with the police”, she said on CNN.

The speech is the latest in a series of teleprompter-delivered prepared remarks aimed at convincing tired Republicans that Trump has the discipline and control to mount a credible general election bid against likely rival Hillary Clinton.

But Clinton also warned that there was a “terrible disconnect” between police officers and the people they are meant to protect.

“You have to honor the unfortunate things that have been happening in our world, in our country”, said Dickson City resident Mary Ann Hrinko, a campaign volunteer. The Democratic presidential candidate is still expected to address the shootings later Friday at an appearance with the African Methodist Episcopal Convention in Philadelphia.

Trump told the New York Times last month that he would not invite a person to speak “if there’s no endorsement”.

Some were disappointed by the news, but nearly everyone said it was appropriate given Thursday night’s shooting in which five police officers were killed and several others injured when a gunman opened fire during a protest in Dallas.

Trump is seeking to unify a Republican Party less than two weeks before its nominating convention in Cleveland. Shootings are occurring with black people, black people are dying. We will pull through these tragedies.
