Anil Kumble insists he’ll not curb Kohli’s aggression

This is the flawless situation and opportunity to challenge and assess ourselves as a Test team.

‘It will be one Test match at a time, ‘ said Kohli, prior to his team’s departure for their West Indian tour. But conditions are similar to what we get here at home. And Anil bhai obviously has all three in abundance. “In day-night matches, people can come to the stadium after office hours”, Kumble replied to a question posed during a Q&A session on Twitter on Tuesday (July 5).

The senior players along with Dhoni and the “A” team players like Varun Aaron enjoyed a jam session with actor-musician Vasundhara Das and his musical group Drumjam. “But I was surprised to see that not only were they receptive and embraced new ideas, nut we spent more time than what was stipulated”.

“We’ve divided in such a way that batsmen will help bowlers and bowlers will help batsmen, so that whenever we need to play six or seven batsmen, the batsmen can chip in with the ball, bowl seven-eight overs for us”, Mishra said.

“These sessions helps in building camaraderie which shows on field”.

“Whenever KL (Rahul) has played, he has filled in the opener’s slot but when it comes to keeping Wriddhiman is our first-choice keeper”. We are talking about a lot of batsmen and we are talking about a lot of bowlers.

Shami is obviously a very skilful guy and we all know that. He has a lot of ability with the ball. For me, it doesn’t matter where the coach is from. “Best thing is if its seaming and swinging, he can bowl the conventional line and length”.

He had a great season before he got injured.

After more than a month break from cricket, many of us would be wondering how India’s Test captain Virat Kohli has shaped up for the four Test matches against the West Indies.

“I love his aggression”. Kumble stood by him and that is what I expect he will do with each of his young players who might be rich and successful but vulnerable too. They will also realise that he will work harder for them, much the way John Wright did, that he will prepare the team and then leave it to Virat Kohli to take it onto the ground. “Issues ranging from domestic cricket set-up, India A tours, injury management and workload of the players, and strengthening the bench strength of Indian cricket were discussed in detail to synchronize the efforts of everyone working for the betterment of Indian cricket”, a BCCI release said.

“We haven’t really thought about pink ball yet as far as I know”.

Kohli was clear in what the team was thinking going to the West Indies. “You would want to dominate the game and losing early wickets means that you are always playing a catch-up game”, Kohli added.

Kumble conceded that the new concept of day-night Tests will help in sustaining the interest of cricket lovers
