The article cites a Republican with “direct knowledge of the decision”.

Gov. Mike Pence is dropping his re-election bid in IN to become Donald Trump’s running mate. However, the documents have not been filed, according to the Republican, who insisted on anonymity because that person was not authorized to publicly discuss Pence’s plans.

Trump’s adult children, as well as son-in-law Jared Kushner, have played an influential role guiding Trump’s deliberations and gave him differing advice.

The other two apparent finalists in Trump’s rounds of audition for a running partner were former House Speaker Newt Gingrich and New Jersey Gov. Chris Christie.

Trump campaign chairman Paul Manafort is saying the same.

“Withholding comment until it’s official, but if claims about Pence as VP are correct, boy was I right about this being Trump’s first mistake”, Coulter wrote amid a series of tweets on Thursday.

But according to Trump senior communications advisor Jason Miller, a final decision hasn’t been made and the official announcement will come tomorrow at 11 a.m. ET from NY. If chosen as Donald Trump’s running mate he will have to remove his name from the ballot by noon on Friday. Joined by daughter Ivanka and sons Donald Jr. and Eric Trump, Trump also had breakfast with Pence and his wife, Karen, on Wednesday at the governor’s residence in Indianapolis.

However, the Trump campaign is denying this is true.

“I’ve served with Mike, I like him personally”, Sen. Joni Ernst (R-Iowa) and Bob Corker (R-Tenn.). Adding, “He will be making a decision in the future.and will be announcing his Vice Presidential pick tomorrow at 11am as planned”.

Last year, Pence received criticism from LGBT groups after signing into the law the Religious Freedom Restoration Act.

The two haven’t always seen eye-to-eye on policy, either.

Trump has long said he wanted a running mate with governing experience who could help him enact his agenda in Washington.

Trump took notice of Pence during the IN primary, noting that the governor had high praise for him despite endorsing one of his rivals.

All three have had extensive conversations with Trump and his family in recent days.

Pence has influential allies in Trump’s inner circle. The Indianapolis Star has reported Pence “swore off harsh political tactics”.

The Indiana governor, who was a member of the House of Representatives from 2001 to 2013, is a staunch right-winger and a proud member of the Tea Party movement.

The moves had Pence associates in IN abuzz about his likely selection. He served six terms in Congress before becoming in governor.

Each one of them appeared at a rally or a speech to introduce Trump. John Barrasso, R-Wyo. “I think he’d be a good choice, but that doesn’t mean the other guys aren’t good choices, too”. Reached by phone later, Gingrich said he had not heard from Trump, but still expected to receive word Thursday afternoon.
