The Season 4 victor of So You Think You Can Dance might end up showing his moves in a prison yard, as felony and misdemeanor charges were filed against him today by Los Angeles County District Attorney.

He is due to be arraigned in a Los Angeles court later on Thursday (14Jul16), when prosecutors are expected to request the judge set bail at $270,000 (£202,475). Allen went after his girlfriend last month, chasing her inside a coffee shop when she tried to run away.
In the first incident, the 27-year-old, who was already prohibited from communicating with his girlfriend because of a prior domestic violence occurence, is alleged to have strangled the woman. Allen was later “subdued by other good Samaritans”, says the L.A. County D.A.’s office.
TMZ.com on Thursday said the season-four victor, 27, faces two felony counts of willful injury and assault with a deadly weapon – a glass vase – as well as misdemeanors related to battery, vandalism and violation of a protective order. Allen then allegedly threw a glass vase at a woman who attempted to help the victim and attacked another man who also tried to intervene.
Allen, who also was in 2010’s Step Up 3D and the 2011 Footloose remake, had a January 13 conviction of “willfully injuring a girlfriend” – which is where the protective order came from.
If convicted, Allen faces spending over a decade behind bars.
