What won ‘Play of the Year’ at the ESPY Awards?
Green Bay, WI (NNCNOW.com) — The Green Bay Packers duo of Aaron Rodgers and Richard Rodgers won the 2016 ESPY Award for “Best Play” on Wednesday night, with their 61-yard hail mary touchdown winning the 16-play bracket-style voting tournament.

A discussion between Rodgers and Simmons on the National Basketball Association and Kevin Durant joining the Golden State Warriors turned into one on superteams and chasing championships.
What was the best play in all of sports during the past year?
“But later in their career, they stay with the same team, they stick it out….”
“You look at two of my favorite players from my sports-watching lifetime, Derek Jeter and Kobe Bryant – and now Tim Duncan, who just retired – those are three fantastic examples of guys who played the entire time [with the same team]”, Rodgers told Simmons in an interview that was taped Tuesday. Derek is one of the best shortstops ever and one of the best Yankees ever. The phrase is that money talks, and many high-level players have “sworn” their loyalty to one team until a new team comes along willing to overpay for them, and poof, a villain is often born. They stuck it out.
“The biggest obstacle, I think, would be the mindset of players”, said Rodgers on HBO’s “Any Given Wednesday”, taped earlier in the week. “It would be nice if I am able to do that”.
“There was a weird siren in the distance”, Rodgers said. “I didn’t know what to say”. My mom wasn’t there.
