Now there is a chance, that somehow, some way, Gotham could possibly eek out a win in one of these categories simply because none of them are considered a top tier category like Best Drama or Best Lead Actor, etc. and the Academy decides that Game of Thrones can’t win every goddamn category but I’d say the odds of that are low. No huge surprises there among the well-earned nods, though it’s sad to see Downton Abbey’s distinguished patriarch, played by Hugh Bonneville, not get a proper send-off for his work on the shuttered period drama.

HBO’s political comedy “Veep”, starring Julia Louis-Dreyfus as hapless President Selina Meyer – scored 17 nominations for television’s equivalent of the Oscars, to be handed out on September 18 in Los Angeles.
