Aston Martin of Cambridge has launched a limited edition of the V12 Vantage S model. Yellow detailing is also present on the grille and brake calipers, along with carbon fibre front and rear diffusers to complete the unique look.

It also features hand-built components by Duxford’s Aircraft Restoration Company, such as the tailpipe finishers, while inside, there’s bespoke embroidered logos on the headrests and RAF’s roundel on the dash.
Finished in a dark “Duxford Green” hue named after the RAF site on which the first Spitfire squadron was stationed, it sports flashes of yellow that reference those applied to the wings of the historic aircraft.
Aston Martin has chose to celebrate the heritage – 80 years since the maiden flight of the Supermarine Spitfire fighter plane – in style.
Buyers can specify a few extras to help make them feel like they are piloting the legendary plane, which played a huge role in World War 2, including googles, flying helmet, a special Spitfire 80 Irvin Jacket and a themed auto cover. Additionally, there’s a themed auto cover, embossed owner’s manual and leather photo album of the handover bespoke to each customer. All eight owners will take delivery of their vehicle straight from the Duxford air force museum on October 18th, when they will also be offered a flight in a Spitfire. The finale will be an opportunity to test the limits of their new cars along the runway, before watching a display of one of the last Mk1 Spitfires.

There’s no Spitfire Rolls-Royce Merlin supercharged V12 under the hood – just the regular naturally aspirated 5.9-liter V12 good for 565 horsepower (421 kilowatts) and a 62 miles per hour (100 km/h) sprint of just 3.9 seconds. Around £180,000, which is some forty grand more than the standard Vantage S. Some portion of that money will be donated to the RAF Benevolent Fund.
