The new government: George Osborne sacked and Boris Johnson becomes foreign secretary
Boris Johnson has said that the United States would be “in the front of the queue” following his surprise appointment as Britain’s new foreign minister.

The former mayor of London was a vocal Brexit campaigner, but somewhat unexpectedly revealed at the last minute that he’d decided not to stand in the Conservative leadership race.
Theresa May, who became Prime Minister after David Cameron stepped down today, is in the process of announcing her top team amid a major cabinet reshuffle.
“I think Theresa made a wonderful speech this afternoon about her ambitions for the country and how she saw the Conservative Government taking Britain forward”.
We can rely on Johnson to lecture people of many nations on their own histories and cultures.
May appointed David Davis to a newly-created secretary of state role in which he will manage Britain’s exit from the European Union.
He has taken over the job from Philip Hammond who has replaced George Osborne as Chancellor of the Exchequer, Xinhua reported.
After formally being invited to form a government in a meeting with Queen Elizabeth II, May arrived at her new Downing Street residence with a promise to tackle “burning injustice”.
Challenged over whether Mr Johnson was ready to take over responsibility for intelligence agency MI6, Chancellor Philip Hammond pointed out that he would receive plentiful support from the “highly skilled and competent” civil servants in the “well-oiled machine” of the Foreign Office.
The US played down the news with “This is a relationship that goes beyond personalities”, Mark Toner, US state Department spokesperson.
But he was undercut by key ally (and campaign manager) Michael Gove, who pronounced Johnson unfit to serve and ran (with no success whatsoever) for party leader himself.
Russian President Vladimir Putin on Wednesday congratulated May’s appointment in a telegram in which he expressed his wish to “maintain a constructive dialogue”.

“However we’re sure of one thing, that British-Turkish relations are more important than that and can’t be hostage to these statements”, said the official, who requested anonymity due to the sensitivity of the situation. “The world has enough problems for us to progress in our foreign policy cooperation with Great Britain as we have always done”, she said.
